Michael J. Patti

Michael is a principal and healthcare industry leader with Baker Tilly. As the healthcare industry leader, Michael is focused on the growth, innovation and development of Baker Tilly’s services supporting the provider, life sciences and payer areas of healthcare. Michael has 20 years of experience specifically in the healthcare industry and has led projects in all three of the subindustry areas of Baker Tilly’s healthcare practice. His role includes leading cross service line teams to align the right resources from across Baker Tilly to provide the best teams for our clients. He has a personal service focus on large scale technology transformation aligned to the unique trends and operational issues facing healthcare organizations and he has led industry specific projects in all three subindustries. Michael also has experience in financial process and system design and implementation projects along with business intelligence projects in the finance and accounting space as well as enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementations. Prior to his focus on healthcare, Michael worked on projects in the utility, consumer package goods and public sector industries. Prior to joining Baker Tilly in 2003, Michael worked in the consulting practices of two global professional services firms.

  • Provided leadership to a project for a global pharmaceutical manufacturer focused on improved automation, performance and control of their processes for engaging healthcare professionals (HCP’s) in in pursuit of their various market facing strategies. Supported implementation of an industry leading vendor solution focused specifically on engagement along with the integration to both Baker Tilly outsourced accounting functions (for HCP payment processing and management) as well as internal client systems (e.g. for payment authorization and purchase controls)
  • Provided leadership to multiple Electronic Health Record (EHR) implementation and interoperability projects at provider organizations of various types including independent hospitals and private equity owned imaging centers. Projects have covered post-merger migration to a single central EHR, optimization efforts related to specific business outcomes (e.g. improved charge capture in the OR) and integration that supports the flow of patients and data between disparate organizations with clinical delivery partnerships (e.g. scheduling, order and result integrations)
  • Led multiple projects in the payer subindustry, supporting Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, national plans as well as local and regional plans. Projects have included a deep focus on network management functions including delivery of technology systems for both fee for service and value based reimbursement, delivery of modern end-to-end claims processing and core administration platforms and compliance with industry regulations including the 21st Century Cures and No Surprises Acts
